AirVentures offers balloon safaris in the NorthWestern part of the Okavango Delta, between the Vumbura River and the Selinda Spillway. As one of Africa's great wilderness destinations, a balloon offers the very best game viewing position, enabling the traveller to fly silently over the flooded landscape, with winding channels, islands, and woodland. This age-old ballooning adventure explores the Okavango Delta in an entirely unique way offering a 360-degree panoramic view from treetop level to a thousand feet in the air.
To experience a balloon safari with AirVentures in the Okavango Delta, a minimum of one night's stay must be booked at one of the camps located in the remote flying area. This is due to hot air balloons having to fly within the first hour of sunrise, at a time that charter flights cannot reach in time for take-off.
There are four Camps in the flying area, each offering a unique product and catering for a wide variety of individual tastes. All provide water and land-based activities throughout the year. Camps are reached by a 40-minute flight from Maun or a 1-hour flight from Kasane. Transfer times from the Camps to the balloon safari vary depending on the launch site being used.
